…the site’s still here, so my host seems to have accepted my money, despite what their billing system shows. I’ll have a beer review for you when I sober up from it. I hope that you get to experience this brewery. Its got some nice product.
Where does the time go on the weekends? This weekend, I began, by not working overtime. That seemed like a good idea. I stopped at a few places on the way home to grab some odds and ends that I’d not been able to get earlier.
I picked up some delicious beer to start the weekend off right.I must say that I am really liking the Porter style of beer lately. So, last week, it rained a torrential downpour, leaving just our house in the middle of a soggy yard.
This week, it snows and is well below freezing. Mac’s still in denial, I am sure, but I’ve got the proof that old man winter is on his way.
So, Ange and I painted some more as well. Our living room is finished, for all intents and purposes, and one bedroom’s paint is drying now. Two more rooms and a bit in the hall is all that’s left for the paint. That won’t come soon enough.
As you can see, we’ve tried to escape the ’80s fake wood paneling look as much as possible. We’ve even fulled in the cracks in the paneling to smooth out the wall a bit.

Right now, I am listening on Jamendo and I must say that I like what I hear. You may recall that I wrote about this shortly ago, with a recommendation of Josh Woodward’s The Simple Life album. Tonight, I am listening to Robin Grey – Only the Missile. Thanks to Drew’s recommendation of Ruth Theodore’s album, Robin seems to have found this reference and left a comment, letting us know about his own effort. I am listening now and am totally entertained. The bluesy, folksy tones of his music is a great match with his voice, which ranges from soft and silky to deep and gravelly to raspy (reminds me of on of my favorite beers, Fuller’s London Pride – rich, deep, complex, smooth, with a slight edge, like that gentle uncle that would allow the kids to jump on him and play with him to exhaustion, who would defend their lives with conviction and courage). Its tagged: folk, blues, accoustic, ruth, theodore, harmonies
I was checking out the Sarah Palin interview with Charles Gibson on YouTube. She seemed to hold her own against the bully, so power to her (but Obama has a MUCH better sense of humor). I strayed, as one always does with YouTube, and checked out a response to the Summer Cooking Guru Challenge. It was a response by a comedien who calls herself DatAintRight and its pretty damn funny. Of course, I also think that the recipe should be tested:

Is it a bad thing that I take a small pride in getting almost all of the answers right?
Remember, folks, that if you didn’t drop a few Tylenol or Asperin last night with a tall glass of water before bed, you’re possibly hung over and Canada Day doesn’t seem so great in retrospect. Remember that it was you who made you this way today, so fix it.
If you can get it down (LOL), you should try taking that pain reliever now with a tall glass of water (for hydration) and go back to bed and try to get back to sleep for an hour. When you wake, get some orange juice (or other vitamin C rich juice) and some milk into you. They contain a lot of the nutrients that your brain is starving for right now.
good luck with that. I hope that I get internet access soon, so that I can comment on yours
