Check out this NY Times article about broadband in Japan. I pay $46CDN for a measly 7Mbit connection and its got a transfer cap of 60GB/month. And, compared to many other places, this is a super fast connection.

Hint: look down, waaaaaay down.

Oh, look. I was right.
Well, it seems that you can snap off a quick post from your WordPress Dashboard. Look at all the fun that I missed in testing this puppy since 2.6. Groovy.
The site now runs WordPress version 2.7 (Beta 3), so I am with the many testers who are trying to stay a tad ahead of the crowd. My reasoning is to avoid the download rush, if there is one. But, with a 3rd beta out, this might begin to be workable. I wanted to try out the new admin layout as well. And, what the hey. I might actually get around to editing my comments page to work with the new features. If you find a bug, please email me.

I have an issue with my credit card at the moment and have had to make alternate arrangements with my web host to be paid, as they were to be paid via credit card through 2checkout.com. Both Friendlier.com, my host, and 2checkout.com, the credit card processing company have been excellent to deal with through this issue.
When I had realized that 2c0 (2 checkout) had still been trying to secure the payment, after a couple attempts, I tried to contact them via the return info in the email I received. I was not successful in making the necessary change on the site (an area of improvement for usability, I guess – maybe I’m just too numb to navigate it, though), so I called their phone number for assistance. Its just after 8am AST this morning and someone was there. Not only did she understand what I needed, she acted on it quickly and efficiently. So, thank you for excellent service, cc_rep_05. You’re an asset to your company.
To my neighbors about an hour’s drive to the south (in the USA), I hope that you exercise your right to vote in your Federal election today. Go and make a choice so that you have a right to complain about it later!
