So, I’ve been off doing wild and wonderful things, you are sure. I’ve been travelling the world in my hydrogen powered jet, schmoozing with the world’s leaders (you know, the oil barons…) and talking about high finance. Or, is it that I’ve been on a secret mission so top secret that I couldn’t even surface long enough to write about something, for fear of losing my anonymity. You think, maybe Corey was abducted by the same aliens that took John away for a long time.

Sadly, no. I’ve been doing the same-o same-o since the last time I wrote anything. I’ve fallen into the trap that hari has, on occasion. Like he has, I’m going to ask about it. Do you get periods where you just don’t really feel like doing anything? Do you stop writing? Apparently, I do.

What do you think?

Why haven’t we heard more about google.org? Have you heard about it? I would think that with the negative “Big Brother” reputation that a big company like Google gets, merely for being big, it would be a breath of fresh air to see some of the good that can come out of them.

Well, there is someone out there who wants us to be able to get to some of those lost pages. Go to Reocities. Go check it out if you want to see what some people try to do for the rest of us.

…but this site was unavailable for most of the day. I have yet to find out from my host what their problem was, but I will find out.

I found out what it was. More on that later. I’ve taken this opportunity  to review the security of my WordPress installation and have taken some measures last night that should close the biggest possible holes. One of them was to rename the tables on the database from  a copy that I saved earlier, so I lost a few comments on this post. Thank you for them, folks. I appreciate it, really. I hadn’t realized how big the database had grown. I’m going to have to cull through it and see if there are some things i can remove.

So, in the Atlantic Standard Time zone, its now officially 2010. Welcome to the next year, which promises to be better than the last,’cos I said so!

So, for od and RT Cunningham, who is already 12 hours into 2010, what is it like?

For hari, who is already 10 hours into 2010, what is it like?

For Ray and Richard, who are already 4 hours into 2010, what is it like?

For Diane and Drew, who have still 3 hours left in 2009, what do you think the future holds?

Same goes for Dragonlady, Jeremy, and SeLiNa. How does it feel with 1 hour left in 2009?

BTW, WordPress has a bug with scheduled posts. I intended this to post at midnight and it didn’t. WordPress failed. Boo!. Repost at 12:19am, Jan 1, 2010.]

Boo. Wordpress fails big time. This is a pasted repost of what I already wrote. WordPress fail.

MacBros wants to feel wanted, despite partying it up with his family, knowing full well that he is wanted. So, to avoid having to close comments on this post, I mention him.

That is a wish of mine, whether you celebrate this holiday today or not. Please try to be happy, if you can. I know that our kids will be when they get up. And, no, I’m not up right now. Its magic!

1st Real Snow of the Year - 2009 Dec 6

1st Real Snow of the Year – 2009 Dec 6

So, last night it began to snow, leaving a nice, white blanket of the stuff today. The kids have gone out to play in it and its reasonably peaceful inside the house at the moment. It snowed once for an hour ot so back in October, but there was nothing left on the ground to prove that it truly was a snow day. A few days ago, we encountered the same stuff, only less. I figure that I can’t really call it the first snowfal unless it sticks around long enough to show a litle proof, so today is the day.

Its December and the 1st day of winter is coming upon us, so its time that we looked the part. Apparently, there are lots of folks around here who have been feeling the same. The excitement of people in the area is spilling over onto their Twitter and Facebook status updates, like this snowfall is some kind of great significant sign. I guess it is. I wrote about it, too, right?

Perhaps its the visual queue that signifys a change. With the way our government has created mass panic over the season’s new flu and the past year of economic slump affecting all of our lives in unpredictable ways, its nice to see that some things change and aren’t actually a bad thing. But, who am I to say? I’m just a guy who woke up and saw a pretty scene out of his front window that just needed to be captured by a lens.
