…but I’m right! Get yer historical hero clay figurines now!

Abby scratched this drawing out for me in just a few minutes on a note pad. I couldn’t keep it to myself.

She did this standing up with the note pad in her hand.
I got my walking in this morning, for sure. I went to the school with Caleb at the regular time (and, on the way home I realized that I made a whole lunch for him when its a short day) and came back to get Abby ready.
Yes - to get Abby ready! Its her first day of school and she was so excited to go. I sure hope that it doesn’t wear off, as she’s going to need a challenge. The little sponge! I’ve taken the morning off work so that I could go with her and also get some other stuff done, like get my driver’s license renewed. Just because I don’t own a car doesn’t mean that I won’t be driving one in the next few years!
In an hour, school will be out and we’ll go get the kids. Its almost not worth having a day, being so short and all.
Do I hear an echo in here?…
Abby and Caleb were whisked off to the beach today by Grammy. The weather is supposed to be favorable for the beach over the next few days, as the National Weather Forecast seems to be predicting:

So, they’ll be having the time of their lives, and most importantly, Caleb will get a break from his obsession with “Operation Flashpoint - Cold War Crisis“. That is a good thing. So, this means that Angela gets a bit of a break from us all through the day for a few days, as they’ll be away until Thursday night. It’ll be nice to get home and be able to go straight to the shower after my strenuous fun bike ride.
I’m sure that if Caleb knew the words to the Alice Cooper song, he’d be singing them this afternoon. School’s officially out for the summer today, so I doubt that the little guy will have a hard day at all. They have already sent home his homework and workbooks that have gathered up for the year. Interestingly, today may be a crappy weather day, though. The report is for thunderstorms this afternoon. Of course, that was the report for yesterday as well, so who knows! I was planning to be out and about in it, too, though.
Its getting darker out instead of lighter right now (6:30am), so maybe that storm will arrive sooner rather than later. Who knows.
Caleb is done school on Friday 22 June. He can’t wait, either. I think that this year is different for him, as he’s getting a bit older and less dependent on others to get things done. He also has gotten thoroughly hooked on a computer game called “Operation Flashpoint”, which is an older game set south of the former Soviet Union and its the USA pitted against the Soviets. So, the subject material is old. Its been an educating time as a result, as I have to fill in the history for Caleb. The game seems to have a reasonable base on some facts as far as places, weapons, and dates (certainly not all of them, though).
His report cards have shown good performance in all areas they measure, so I should be pleased with his year end report card. I know that Abby will be really pleased that she will have another playmate closer to her age than mom or dad to play with and be tormented by.
As a bonus, I won’t have to get up before 6am for the summer! Woo!
I don’t know why, but I have liked Abby’s cat drawings so much and she loves to include one now and then (its usually supposed to be our cat).

Now, look at that. Isn’t that cute?
