My 2005 Nissan Sentra

Here’s what I bought.  Its a 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 Special Edition.  I bought it because of its low mileage (66,000kms) and the fact that its only 3 years old, rather than the alternatives that I’ve looked at, which were 5-7 years old.  This is the first vehicle that I’ve owned that has an alarm, so I’ll have to remember that.  Hopefully, it will meet or exceed the EPA fuel economy ratings of 8.4L/100km(28mpg) city and 6.7L/100km(35mpg) highway.  That would be nice.

The air conditioner apparently works, which is good.  It has air bags and a fairly decent CD stereo with an aux input for an mp3 player.  And, it apparently is safe in a crash.

Its not the UN, but its a start:

I r sickWow! I could feel it come on last night, creeping up on me. I had no where to hide. Whammo! I got sick! My mom had told me that everyone was sick back home and to expect to take it back with me.

Well, I did. I’ve been up every hour all night. This morning, I’d just love to step out of my skin, as its just crawling. Should I attempt to go to work? Sure, what the hell!

Last night my last living grandparent, James Whitman, passed away in his sleep, after an extended stay at the hospital in ill health.  I will be attending his funeral.

May you be at peace, my grandfather.  I will miss you.  Although we haven’t seen very much of each other over the past several years, I have always treasured the visits that I did make to your home.  I love your dry sense of humor that you shared with your late brother, Stewart - one of my very best friends, despite the vast difference in our ages.  I love the kindness that you showed to my children when we visited.  I will miss the connected, knowing “look” that you sometimes shot my way.  I’ll see you around.

I will, and do,  remember you as I will your late ex-wife, my mother’s mothe, Doris Whitman and your late wife, Marion.  These were two ladies that also touched my life in positive ways.  Also, I will, and do, remember Harold Thompson and Leona Thompson, my father’s parent.  May you all be resting well.  Without your influence, I would be a different person than I am today.  Thank you.

Mom, I’m thinking about you right now.  I grieve for your loss as well as mine.

Last week was spring break for New Brunswick schools.  So, our kids were home with little on their minds.  Thankfully, their grandma took them for two days and they had a great time with her.  I took Monday and Friday off, so I had a three day work week.  So, now I’ve got to get geared back up for a whole week of work before the weekend.  Man, if it snows or gets icy one more time, I might be out of luck for getting out of the apartment:

About 3 weeks ago, Abby constructed a chain out of construction paper.  She had counted the days until her 6th birthday and had created the chain with the number of links to correspond with the days left to her birthday.  She’s been taking a link off the chain every day since.  Today, the chain shortened from three to two.  That’s my imaginative girl! I would have just “X”ed the calendar if I was inclined to count something down (my birthday is not on that list of things, though. LOL).

Today was -26°C and tomorrow is supposed to be around 0C. But, tonight, its supposed to start snowing and not stop.

Will schools be canceled? I’m taking bets (not for money). I’m saying no for now. I’ll update at 5-6am
