It occurred to me, after reading just one more random, spammy comment on a blog, that there might actually be people out there who don’t know how to search for things using a search engine.
The comments that I’ve read are definitely from someone who already knows how to use a search engine, but they are just trying to leave a comment relevent enough to the post that they don’t get their link deleted. If a complete stranger shows up at your blog and comments with a question like, “I really liked (insert some keyword they scraped here). Where can I find (whatever)?” You know there idiots are trying to get a link back to their crappy site because the only way they likely found your site was through a search engine. If they could find your site, they can find what they’re looking for.
However, what about those who are new the internet and computers? Are you one of those people and you got to my site by accident? I searched for a tutorial on searching and I found two links that I’d like to share because I like the way they are written.
The one that I like the most (so far) is Search engines at Learnwebskills.com. This site ha a few nice articles for the new internet user. The other one may seem an obvious choice for many. Its Google’s Google Search Basics page. Both sources are well presented and will give you a general idea of how to start searching for what you want to see on the internet.
Cool
These people believe bloggers to be stupid. If the post appears not be fully bot begat, I simply repoint the link to my site so I get the keyword goodness.
I was going to search for the last time I made fun of one on your site and link to it in the reply I gave to the latest one on your site, but I was too lazy. Next time. Perhaps I’ll add a link to your last post somewhere here, as a reminder, so that I can do it next time. Then you’ll have the keyword goodness and an extra internal link on an additional comment.
I did already make a very arch comment below your response. I hereby give you full permission to take the mick out of any idiots like that one. Signed me.
