It may appear that I’ve wandered off somewhere, and I am not sure if I haven’t. I’ve not written anything here in a while and still haven’t decided to put anything substantive down in words, but, for those who still seem to care about what is written on this corner of the ‘net, I say, “Hello!” Watch the header for a possible email address change, BTW. I’m getting the impression that spammers are spoofing my email address and its getting blacklisted on some email servers. No, that wasn’t me trying to sell you fake Rolex watches.
That’s ok, I still have to make episode 4! This week, I absolutely promise!
My whole problem is that, for the longest time, I couldn’t think of any reason why I should even make any more episodes. Who’s listening that this really helps? Engineers? Pah, they know all of this stuff and could probably correct it all. Everyday people? What do they care about midi controllers?
Then it hit me…. a new reason to continue! A new focus!
I love audio, and I want people who listen to the podcast to love it, or at least find out why I love it. That’s what I should be doing. So, with that in mind, I begin recording Episode 4 of RCAF!
At least it’s not just me getting the stupid rolex ads.
@Jordan – I think that you’ve just hit upon the right ingredient for a successful podcast. If you don’t do it because you love it, you won’t be doing it.
@Ray – I get tons of those. My problem is that they seem to be coming from my email address, which means that its been scraped from somewhere and is being spoofed for nefarious purposes. This appears to be causing problems with mail delivery for me. I have a friend with an @operamail account who doesn’t get any mail from me and his mail doesn’t get sent to me if he uses that email address. I’ve had the email running through my Gmail account since Gmail offered the “send as another email address” feature. If I use the Gmail address, it goes through. The only other thing that I can think of that may be happening is that the Gmail mail server headers are showing to the Operamail server and are being blocked as the email is not coming from my own mail server. Its a bit frustrating, either way.
cfomsII is actually pretty good. It’s what I use for my Contact page and I was using it for my FNFO too.
Check it out.
I am so glad you are back Corey! Anything more than a week and I start to feel a little bit antsy.
So that explains why email is so flakey between you and me…because some email spoofers are working their dark magic and impeding normal communication! Shame on them I say and may they rot in email purgatory…okay that just sounded dumb. *sigh* I see I missed you during your break at work too even though I was home! hahaa Oh well, talk to you later and may this blog live long and prosper!
@MacBros – I’ve thought about that, but I don’t think that they’re getting my email address from this site. The email address at the top of the page is javascript, so its not as easy to scrape. I think that it came from a form I filled out somewhere.
@MrCorey – yeah, I seem to be sending myself an awful lot of spam too. So far it’s not affecting my mail sending (I think) but cleaning it out every day is a real PITA.
