Awesome!!!! This is a remarkable short film with clarity and punch and I urge everyone to see this. Hey, I wonder what the possibility of convincing Walmart to loop this endlessly on all their TV’s instead of “Pirates of the Caribbean”? That would be classic! This comment made possible by the spirit of Christmas and CRouter!

I don’t need a 20 minute video to tell me that we’re screwing ourselves. I sat there for 5 minutes and she was really starting to annoy me.

Hehe. I like your clever use of the word “stuff”, od. Don’t know if you mean the physical “stuff” brought to the market or the intellectual material and ideas contained within the documentary! Either way, the comment makes sense! :-)

  5. od says:

@Devin – I meant the latter :D lol. I tend to use the word ’stuff’ a lot due to its generic nature :P

@od – That is what I figured but I did a doubletake when I realized that it was subject to more than one interpretation and I thought maybe you were being deliberately clever. :-)

By the way, what is the hidden meaning behind your alias? Does od = overdose (as in sixty doses) or since you are tech oriented and freebsd enlightened (I was too in the old freebsd 4.0 days) I was hoping that od referred to the utility that “dump files in octal and other formats.” :-)

  7. od says:

@Devin – od as in octal dump? lol no. My alias simply stands for overdose. Actually I’ve thought of writing about my alias quite sometime back, but I had forgotten about it. Think that’ll be my next post :p

@od – Awesome! I can’t wait to have my curiosity satisfied! I actually took the time to read some of your old blog postings to see if I could reveal the meaning. Nothing is more embarrassing than asking a question – only to realize that the answer was two inches away from you. I’ll definitely make sure to read that blog entry!

And Corey, I’m sorry that we have got off topic on your blog! Talk about hijacking a thread. Me thinks I should give you a shout later on in the day to see how things are going. Peace out.

@Drew – I know. Isn’t it awful that we are sleeping on toxic rat poison? If the fires don’t get you, the carcinogenic chemicals will. :-(

Great video. Nothing will happen about it of course, until it absolutely definitively, utterly, needs to. You know, when there’s like two trees left, or oil costs $1000/barrel, or life expectancy in -western- countries starts to drop.

  12. drew says:

When oil is $1000 a barrel, I’m sure we’d already have moved on to other sources of energy.

And if there’s only two trees left in the world, I’m pretty sure we could say life would cease to exist, except micro-organisms and cockroaches. (Mars pops into my head when I think of a world with no trees) ;)
