Seems that the warm, heavy snow – that’s perfect for snowmans – is too heavy for our power lines. You don’t know how good it is until its gone, huh. Now, since my alarm clock is run from the electricity in the wall socket…

So, this is the after…doesn’t look so bad, does it? I didn’t include any pics of me up on the roof, clearing the snow and tree branches away from the power pole entrance and the sattelite dish. This is the first time that we lost TV because of an obstruction on our dish, and I must say that it took quite a lot. Kudos to Bell. From my experience with Cable TV out here, this is nothing in comparison, despite the FUD that the local cable monopoly is trying to dish out.
Oh my…. doesn’t your alarm have a battery backup or anything?
Two alternatives!
1) A Cell phone… mine has a hugely long battery life. It can go days with the screen shining brightly before it loses power. And it’s got a nifty, simple alarm to it that I prefer to the radio.
2) A DS… yes, as in a Nintendo DS. Can’t vouch that well for the battery life if the power goes out, but it does have an alarm function, and I guarantee it will not shut off when the power does.
Apparently, this was enough to cancel school in the area. Ange’ll be happy when she gets up…
It looks miserable out there right now.
I don’t need any stinkin alarm clock anymore. I got a human alarm clock that is up by 7am each and every morning, his name is Ethan and he’s very reliable.
Ha ha! I am sure that he will continue to be reliable, especially on weekends, until he hits about grade 2, when he will suddenly malfunction on school days only!
Nah, I’m gonna teach my kid that school is more fun than staying home. If he wants to stay home and skip a day of school, that means he’s gonna work while he’s home.
