He’s coming home! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a picture of our son, Caleb. He’s acting like a ombie that he sees in a video game that he plays. As you can see, in this picture, he is smiling in the fun of it all. Well, yesterday, he was closer to being a real zombie, as he was so exhausted from not being able to sleep through the intense pain he had in his stomach. He began feeling pain the day before, but couldn’t go to the bathroom, so we thought he was constipated and it would be remedied.
Boy, were we wrong! Our poor tough fellow, who had just carried on, even though he was feeling less than idea, fooled us into thinking that something else was wrong with hin than there really was. When he let us know that something was wrong, it was something really wrong. It turns out that his appendix decided that it was done being nice and became inflamed and irregular and was causing him pain. We figure that sometime through the night or in the morning, it perforated (a medical term that makes the term BURST sound less scary). So, after several tests, pokes, and prods, and an ultrasound, it was determined that our tough little dood (who was still mobile through all of this pain) should have his appendix out as soon as possible. So, that is what happened. Once he was open, the surgeon found that it had ruptured and did a great job of cleaning him up and getting him full of antibiotic.
I’ll be staying with him in his room for the next few days, so I may not be online much, unless the computer they have at the hospital is free when I am. Wish Caleb a quick recovery! Thanks, all.

Ahhh. Poor little guy. It’s amazing he wasn’t crippled from the pain, so yea, maybe a little too tough indeed.
Hope he pulls through! He’s lucky too, that’s not something you fool around with.
He is amazing! My appendix had me bedfast for 2 weeks when I was 16. Granted it probably would have just been a week if it had been diagnosed CORRECTLY the FIRST time. Not that I am bitter.
2nd doc was convinced I had a tubal pregnancy despite the fact I had never even had sex. Again, not that I am bitter. LOL Anyway, I wish Caleb a speedy recovery!
I also wanted to add, that he must get his toughness from him Mom.
Kid’s too tough for his own good! Wishing him a speedy recovery and you may need to get the emergency room on speed dial, from this I’d guess you have many years of supposedly minor injuries to come
@MacBros - She is one tough cookie! You may be right, Mac (way to pick on someone with no internet connection! :P)
@ALL: He’s sleeping through the night, but still can’t hold down solid food yet, a his intestines are taking a break. That’s causing him pain, so he’s not out of the woods yet.
Oh wow! So sorry to hear the poor little guy was suffering but glad to know he’ll be OK. My youngest son, Sammy, had the same thing happen and I was telling him to shut up and quit trying to get out of going to school. LOL I think he was 12 though when his came out- Thank God I finally decided he wasn’t faking it- (blush) You can barely even see the scar now and he’ll be 17 in December.
I fear the days ahead of me being a parent when this type of thing happens.
Best wishes and make sure he gets whatever he wants for the next two days.
I hope he’s feeling fine now. Best wishes on his road to recovery.
We’re going to try toast today. Wish him luck!
Hope he’s ok, good job you caught it!
