This will be an interesting month, as we will be moving to a new home.  We’ve been keeping our “ears to the ground” for a 3 bedroom to move into so that the kids could each have their own room again.  We got spoiled with that situation before an its not been the same since.  They would stay up much later than they should because they had each other to keep themselves occupied in the one bedroom.  Despite threats of death, doom, and destruction, they would keep chattering away until WAY TOO LATE.  Its also out of the city.  Yay! No more fighting with rush hour traffic to get across a congested bridge that shuts completely down in the winter many times due to accidents.  And, now, Caleb can help me with the garden, as we’ll be able to plant one!

My phone, long distance, and internet can move with me.  My television service can move with me.  The electricity is scheduled for disconnection/reconnection.  A moving truck has been reserved.  That leaves calling or writing to the companies that we deal with to update mailing information.  The kids’ school will need some papers filled out for a transfer.  We need to pack our stuff.  And, to think that last week this was not even a thought.  Everything happens for a reason, I guess.

The next two weekends will involve visits from family, as well.  I guess that this month is packed with activity.  I hope that I can keep it all under control, for the most part.

moving is always a difficult job and when it comes suddenly it becomes more difficult. Glad that you are enjoying your move but you need to plan it good to make it smooth. This is a good time to throw away your garbage that you are taking care of and that you don’t need any more. My advice is to hire professional movers because it will lighten your burden. When i moved i also hired movers called Box which made my moves a memorable experience. Specially when moving in short period these professionals feel like God’s gift. Nevertheless it’ all your choice.

    Have a pleasant move

It is definitely going to be an exciting month so I wish you the best of luck and can’t wait to help you move and see the new place!! Of course, I will be sad to see you leave the city but its not like you are leaving for Paris, France or Bogota, Colombia! We’ll still be in touch! The reason I was offline and not in touch yesterday was because a friend invited me down the hill yesterday and I tugged my portable server along. I got his N64 emulator running better than he had managed to accomplish on his own and he showed me the final boss in Crysis. And I learned that playing two player games in Project 64 works better than I thought! Talk to you soon!

How odd. We just moved to a different house this week. We’ve still not settled in yet. That’s why I’ve not posted in a few days.

I’ll be up the road from you, on Landing Rd. BTW, my brother was just here, stopping for the night on his way to Borden. I heard that you were there right now. You might come across him, possibly if you see anyone from the imaging trade at all(pte Ian).

@Harmon - That site looks like a place that provides a great solution for people in the NJ, USA area. I’m sure that anyone within their area would benefit, if that’s the way they want to move, which is why I approved your comment, Harmon, even though Akismet caught it and held it as a spam comment(which I don’t really think it necessarily is, since its “on topic” and relevent). We’re going to do it like we have before, though, which is by ourselves. the only difference is that I’m going to rent a truck to do it, so we can go in one trip and have it done. Its going to cost less than $100.00CDN, so I think that’s the way to go.

Are you looking forward to it? Or is it a mix of anticipation and dread?

No dread at all. I’m looking forward to getting out of the city and back to bear country. Hey, I seem to be able to get a 5Mbit DSL connection out there in the sticks, so I am happy with that. I can keep it with my telco and use the same CPE (Speedstream 6520 DSL modem/router w wireless G), instead of getting a new router for the Cable modem that I have in my closet. I should sell that thing, I guess. I’m glad that I don’t have to go with the cable co, as they’re really restricting the bandwidth and jacking up their price - because they can! Hmm. $39.95/mo for 5Mbit DSL no cap and no throttling? $44.95 for 7Mbit(maybe) cable, capped at 60G transfer and throttled to shreds so bad that you couldn’t share back a linux distro 1:1 for about 3 weeks and the shittiest DNS servers on the planet that don’t even load pages. Um, err….
