That is, again.

The upcoming release of Wordpress, version 2.7, has had some changes in where to find things that you do with your blog from behind.  The administration panel is being overhauled again.  Things will be moved around to where the developers think they should be.

This time, however, they have put up a poll so that you can give your input in how you’d like to see it.  You input might influence the way your admin panel looks.  It WILL change, regardless, so do the poll so that the developers have a clue as to which if their visions that you like the most (or dislike the least).

The survey can be found here.

The next time I move to a blogging platform, it’ll be my own.

I’m planning to write a nice, uncluttered, no-frills, functional blogging system which runs under SQLite and doesn’t have to be tied down to a large enterprise-scale database platform and megabytes of PHP code and libraries.

I like your sense of freedom, Hari! Keep up the good work and show us that we don’t have to tied down to mainstream and enterprise solutions!

    Thanks, Devin.

It’s just that MySQL is quite a resource hog and also most blogging platforms use tons of PHP processing adding intense memory and resource requirements on the server.

I want just a simple blog without too much SQL code and with fewer (but more relevant) features for a personal blog (rather than a CMS).

I like your philosophy though I am sad to hear that mysql has become fat and overbloated. I was such a champion of this free and powerful database engine in the old days and was glad to see that the commercialized Oracle couldn’t rule our lives!
