I finally got around to re-encoding a video that was taken on my mom’s digital camera, sideways.  I finally rotated it 90° counter clockwise so that it was viewable.  Because the video file was still 15 megs after re-encoding to mp4, I uploaded it to YouTube and have embedded it here for you.  If you’re a family member and you want the original, I will email it to you if you ask. :)

    Hehheh. Cute.

You know you have a friend who has some pretty nice media software Called Adobe CS3 Pro Master Collection right. Some really nice stuff to edit and rotate it PLUS FLV it for better browser playback right?

That person would be me, just in case you’re wondering who it is I’m talking about. :p

I know, my friend. I was just farting around with mencoder settings. One short command line with just a few switches and it was flipped and compressed in just a few seconds. it could use some cleaning up, but the raw footage is kinda endearing, as well, don’t ya think? I might still fire the file to you. The original from the camera is 85MB, though, so I’ll bring it over, if so, on a thumb drive.

85MB. Can’t ya just FTP it and I’ll download it?
Or you can stop by too. Whatever is easier for you.

Don’t know how I missed this the last time I visited, but it’s soooooo adorable! My favorite part was the chorus, where she acted it out…oh, and the end with your mother…lol. Glad you were able to flip it. I didn’t know that was even possible. I stupidedly video’d santa arriving 2 years ago sideways, and I was so mad at myself afterwards…lol

There are a few tools out there that you can use, Skye, to do the rotation. I had John help with his Adobe software, but I’ve not uploaded the flash video he created successfully (or, rather, I’ve not embedded it in the page successfully). You can for sure get Mencoder for Windows as well, if you’re a command line guru (but the Windows command line has become quite unfriendly). There are also some other tools out there. I’ll find you one, if you want to fix your Santa video.

If it’s not TO BIG of a file, I can fix it for ya Skye. All you have to do is ask. :)
