I will probably just try to recreate the comments as I get time (I'll check out the wording from my Google reader). I don't think that anybody new to the site commented, so, I can just add the relevent email/website data from info provided for previous comments. I don't know about the date stamps for them, though. That's where Feedburner actually came through for me. They have the post date down to the second.
