Sand Shovel by Patrick DignardAbby and Caleb were whisked off to the beach today by Grammy. The weather is supposed to be favorable for the beach over the next few days, as the National Weather Forecast seems to be predicting:

Text Forecast from Environment Canada

Tonight
Cloudy periods. 40 percent chance of showers early this evening. Fog patches developing late this evening. Low 14.
Wednesday
Sunny with cloudy periods. Fog patches dissipating in the morning. High 32. UV index 8 or very high.
Wednesday night
A few clouds. Low 18.
Thursday
Sunny. High 33.
Friday
A mix of sun and cloud. Low 19. High 31.
Saturday
Cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers. Low 17. High 28.

So, they’ll be having the time of their lives, and most importantly, Caleb will get a break from his obsession with “Operation Flashpoint - Cold War Crisis“.  That is a good thing.  So, this means that Angela gets a bit of a break from us all through the day for a few days, as they’ll be away until Thursday night.  It’ll be nice to get home and be able to go straight to the shower after my strenuous fun bike ride.

What was up? Your blog was unreachable for a while.

Sorry, hari. DSTInternet is definitely not meeting their promise of uptime and they refuse to acknowledge that anything’s wrong. Perhaps on the weekend, I’ll migrate this domain back over to Frihost. At least then, the downtime would be more justifiable, since they host you for free. Once I’m off this ridiculous host, I’ll be reviewing them

I know the troubles with webhosting. Hope you manage to fix your problems soon. :)

The more I see it the more I like this theme. I think that I finally hit on something that I can stick with for the long haul (except perhaps for Halloween and Christmas/Easter, etc).

Hi Corey! I have two questions for you!

a.) When are you riding your bike around? In the evening or the day? In other words, what are your work hours now? Do you have weekends off?

b.) If you are riding in the day, do you find it ridiculously hot and sweaty?
And if you are riding during the night, are you afraid of these mean swarms
of people who go around beating people up so bad they need facial surgery?

Man, Fredericton can do without the violence! Anyway, I hope all is well and kudos to all that biking!

Heh. Good question, Devin. If its between the hours of 8am and 11pm, I may be found on my bike somewhere. Yes its hot in the day, and yes, its hot at night, too, as I ride like a psycho! I haven’t thought about the beat-up crew, but I suppose that I’d better avoid them.

Hopefully they are not beating up people on bikes! Unfortunately you cant even buy pepper spray in canada because it is considered a restricted weapon. Not that pepper spray would do any good against a swarm of people who wanted to beat you up!

Hey corey, what are the min sys requirements for flashpoint and how the heck do you get it running? I looked all over for it and could only find the expansion pack version.

  10. MrCorey says:

    Dan, for Cold War Crisis:

    Min System Requirements:
    Windows 95/98/ME or 2000
    Intel Pentium II 400 CPU
    64Mb RAM
    450Mb Hard Disk Space
    16 bit DirectX compatible soundcard
    8X Speed CD-ROM Drive
    Compatible 3D graphics card with 16Mb RAM (8Mb if using a Voodoo2)

It seems the same for the Game of the year edition as well. I’m not sure what set up will work the best for it but I do know that when I tried to get it to run under WINE on Linux (without any real help), I got to a green screen and the GUI was locked. That’s the best that I could do. I don’t know how well it would play on really modern stuff. It may be as bad as on something that wasn’t up to snuff as well.
