This is why I don’t talk about my workplace.  It is also why I don’t use my work email for anything except work or communicating with my wife when at work (and only if necessary).

I don’t know why people don’t believe me when I say that your online presence could determine whether or not you get a job or keep it.

Does this mean there won’t be a rant about certain people in Ontario who aren’t that bright then? Good to be safe when you are publishing material on the web though I wonder about our ability to express our opinion as well. Corporations have too much control over our life and I’m getting tired of it.

In short, no! There will be a rant about the lazy people of the world. BTW, did you upgrade your server? Where did your chat server go? I got the “It works!” page, so Apache is functional…

Those articles talk more about people e-mailing or blogging FROM work. That is just stupid IMO. But if you blog about your job it’s best to be safe and leave names out if you feel you really need to get something off your chest by sharing some personal opinions. But as far as leaking legal and secure information, that’s just plain idiotic!

Another thing (In my case) is if you sign a confidential form stating you can’t discuss anything about clients, it’s best just not talking about work, except for the minor, “I had a bad/good day at work!” comment I suppose.

But this is just my opinion, and you’re entitled to it. :P

Nothing escapes your sharp mind, Corey! I am now finally using the macbook pro as the server instead of the ibook and after three hours couldn’t get my modifications to nakenchat to work. I threw in the towel last night only to throw it back in today. So I have got nakenchat working again and will put up a java chat page again. However, I don’t plan on mirroring my whole site because I would have to set up php, mysql for the trivia program. Just trying to stay with the basics for now so I can get back to playing Final Fantasy VIII!

Okay, so I have a chatserver again though I am using the default java chat client and not my modified color one. But hey, maybe the client will be compatible with other java implementations then? And you will always instantly know whether you are communicating with the macbook pro or ibook as well due to the differences! Now, can I get back to Final Fantasy VIII? I’m starting over…yes from the beginning because my strategy was flawed. Need to max out my stats!

I have blogged about previous work places but kept it sort of generic, didn’t call out any names, etc.

But I’m prohibited to talk about my work now, well at least if it’s not already known knowledge in an Linux Administrators world. If I did talk about work and specifically about things we do, not only would I have the Army after me but also the Department of Defense. I don’t want that at all. ;)

I just tell people now, if I tell you what we do, I’ll have to kill you! :P
