Tagged and Bagged: artwork, google
I noticed a post in my feed reader about the Google Doodle competition and checked it out. There are some talented artists in US schools. Check out their artwork (and see the winner’s on May 22 when you search on Google)
Wow! Those are actually pretty good. I am a bit skeptical that a Kindergarten or grade 3 kid did the What if the World Rocked one though. How many of those were done by the parents huh?
So Corey, which one is yours. :p
They wouldn’t let me enter, as I couldn’t definitively prove that I was an American school child.
K-3 entries do look a bit suspicious. However, Nate Viola’s entry captured my heart. His drawing and statement are precious. he has my vote over all of the older kids.
I wouldn’t put it past the early kids to have done what they did. Remember that these kids would be between 5 and 9 years old. Remember that these are the best of thousands. To tell you the truth, if my 6 year old daughter (currently in kindergarten) did her best work, she would likely have been a contender, as her every day drawings are nearly as detailed and neat as these. I wondered about the rock one as well, but you never know.
The rock one has something an artist like myself would notice. The left side of the Boom Box uses a vanishing point. If you look at the top and bottom left corners, you’ll notice they both follow a perfect vanishing point.
Something 3rd graders aren’t taught. Plus the Drop Shadow of the Google text is kinda too accurate.
Obviously a parent trying to give their kid an advantage.
LOL! Either that or somebody has been held back in Grade 3 a bit too long. ROFLAO!
That might be it!
