I’ve been thinking about tweaking a few things on my site as far as how it looks. I’m not looking at a total redesign. I just want to do a few edits to make it more visually appealing to those who don’t read it in their feed readers.
Is there anything about the layout that I should consider? (I really like this simple two-column design but am open to suggestions)
What about the colors? Links? Text decorations? If you have a color suggestion, could you indicate the hex color# or RGB value so I can see what you mean?
Are there any features that should be here that aren’t?
I’m open to suggestions. And, remember that I don’t moderate comments actively. If you get past Simple Spam Filter (which means you can write anything you want, as long as you click the button to prove that you’re human) and Akismet, your comment will show up right away.

I really have to admit I’m scratching my head trying to nitpick your site, but really the theme is good enough and the layout is simple and unfussy (and more importantly uncluttered). Your page header is classy.
If anything, I would suggest making the fonts in the sidebar slightly bigger
Thanks, hari. I had thought about doing something with the fonts. Its too bad that free flash wasn’t up to snuff yet, as siFr fonts would be really nice!
Jumping in a little late, but I’d like to add that I like the site layout. I dislike too many columns (at least, in personal blogs I do, if you serve loads of ads it’s different) and the colour scheme/fonts are easy on the eye.
Thanks, Ray. You’re definitely not too late on this. In fact, I may install a “sticky” plugin to leave this at the top for a while. This design too me months to bring to a point where I liked it enough to show it to the world. Abby, Caleb, and I collected the leaves that I pulled the colors from in the fall and I didn’t introduce this one until late spring, if you remember. Its still a bit of a work in progress, though. The code for the menu bar at the top was ripped from the theme that you’re using.
Turnabout being fair play and all, I just ripped off your idea for a mailto link in the menu bar. So now we’re even

If you want to, you can obfuscate the address with javascript to avoid a bit of spam, possible. I can send you the scripting if you want (or you can find it all over the web)
