Tagged and Bagged: snow, weather
Who am I kidding? The weather forecast is for 15-30cm of snow and high winds, causing “white out” conditions. Nice. Perhaps the departure may be delayed for a day. We’ll see in the morning…
It’s morning and we’re still here…click the images for a larger version.
So, it looks like its departure Jan 3rd! So, now I have a day off and time to get to the tire shop before they close! That is, unless he’s closed up due to weather…
I hear there’s more to come tomorrow too. Sorry about your luck.
Whatever you do, make sure the safety of yourself and your family comes first!
And as a consolation prize you can always talk to me if you get temporarily stranded!
I got up at 4:45 am and went outside to be truly greeted by winter wonderland! I had the spirit of a kid frolicking without abandon as there were literal mountains, valleys, smooth desert waved hills of soft, whirling, glistening snow everywhere! At times, it literally went up to my knees but I plowed on to the Sobeys which I knew would be closed but had to try anyway. As I walked from Sobeys to the Irving convenience store I wondered whether Corey would brave these harsh conditions and only time will tell. Right now I am recovering from eating some pizza and chinese food! Ahhh, life is good.
I see that you commented during my update…see the cam pics? They don’t do it justice.
They totally don’t do it justice at all! I’m stuck at home playing Banjoo-Tooie myself!
Cool shot through the icicles! Shame about the snow, but like devi said, your family’s safety comes first. Take care
I think that this worked out for the better. This storm packed quite a wallop. I had a chance today, since I didn’t have other plans, to get my pair of snow tires dug out of the snow and I took them down to Charlie’s (take your tire business there, folks! He’s good people!) and got them swapped onto the right rims. Then I took a drive out to Geary and waded through waste deep snow to the other two tires and the corresponding rims and dug them out. I then took them back to Charlie’s and got them swapped. So, now I have 4 good snow tires on the car (the front ones are studded) and it sounds like a tank when I drive it. But, when I take off, I take off and when I turn, I turn. It’ll be a safer trip this way. As a co-worker of mine from years ago said (her name is Lisa), “Everything happens for a reason.” She was right.
Oh man. “But, when I take off, I take off and when I turn, I turn. It’ll be a safer trip this way.” hahaha Yes, those are great prerequisites when driving a car! Have fun on the trip Corey tomorrow and make sure to relax!
