If you ask Tom, he'll tell you that I've been a real fan for a long time (I really did start the Wikipedia article that morphed with the Avatar entry).  Your nifty plugin and Automattic's acquisition just made Gravatars so much more fun to put on a blog.  If you've followed my nutso meanderings over time, you've probably noticed that I am not tolerant of services that I don't have control over the hosting.
