So, it seems that we will likely be owning a motor vehicle sooner than I had planned. I was going to go through this winter without a car and make my way back and forth to work with other means (but now on the really cold, snowy, or rainy days…). My in laws are replacing their car with something newer. There present vehicle can be trusted for short trips, though, and since they realized that its resale would not net very much, they decided to give it to us. So, now I have to call my insurance company and see if they’ll start me off with similar rates as I had 4-1/2 months ago. I didn’t see the point of insuring a car that I didn’t own any longer which was in a junk yard anyway.
So, I guess the kids might actually get to school without frostbite this year. I’m still riding my bike.
I envy the time you’ve been able to do without a car. I’m in a place where walking any more than a couple of blocks is hazardous to your health. Bicycles are target practice.
I do feel lucky, RT, to be able to travel on foot or pedal power in most places - even the roughest parts of town - without any real danger. I’m going to have to discipline myself to continue as the weather gets colder, as I don’t want to lose out on the health benefit of remaining active. And, this has been such an efficient way to get a bit of exercise.
Way to score with the new automobile! RT, where do you live? What inhuman
people throw rocks and other objects at innocent self-powered movers?
Am I breaching protocol by doing this? I should post to my own blog but I don’t have one but I am so mad right now! Feel free to delete this Corey, but as a fellow Demonoid member you must be PO right now that the CRIA is blocking
Canadian traffic!

Glad I downloaded all the classical music I liked when I had the chance!
Sorry Corey for trying to hijack your blog! It’s your blog not mine but I am so mad right now!!
Go for it Devin. I may have to write about this, as soon as I get a few facts into me.
So I’ve figured out two ways to get around this. One, using a free anonymous
proxy web service which is super slow but it does work. Two, using lynx on
my guest shell account at littlegreenmen.armory.com located in California, USA.
Luckily enough, the trackers are not denying Canadian traffic but just the
website. So everything being said, it is still possible right now for Canadian
users to take advantage of Demonoid but with much hassle and trouble. And a
significant percentage of Canadian users won’t have the time to bother with
the inconvenience even if they figure out how to circumvent it! And in that
respect, that means there are less seeders and the whole torrent community
suffers to some extent. Though, Canada is a small percentage of demonoids
community I am sure! The bummer for me being demonoid was my #1 source for
Classical music downloads! I’m still “catching” up and labeling what I have
so no reason for complaints currently anyway! * sigh *
CRIA, YOU SUCK!!! (I feel a little better, now! A little! haha)
I live in the Philippines, Devin. On the outskirts of Olongapo City.
Oh thats interesting. Why does the local population target your bicycle?
Not my bicycle, Devin. Bicycles that others ride. The roads are too narrow and people park their cars on the sides of the roads. There’s barely enough room, in some places, for two cars to pass each other from opposite directions. Bicycle riders can easily get squished if they’re not careful, especially when there’s only room for one car or Jeepney.
Oh, thanks for the clarification, RT!
