Tagged and Bagged: Family, Ranting
Our poor cat got the scratchies. Yes, we have fleas, or had (the adults, anyhow). I’m not sure where they came from, since she has been an indoor cat all along. One of us must have brought in one some how. Neither here, nor there, our poor feline has been afflicted and its not a nice scene. I tried a flea collar, as that’s what we always used at home. What a waste.
I think that the fleas laugh at these things. So, I got some Sergeant’s Flea and Tick spray for cats. One application, according to the directions, and she didn’t have any more fleas hopping off her or hopping back on. So, I hope that this stuff will work. We’ll have to do the apartment, of course. We don’t want any of those tenacious bastards to resurface alive.

How. day one.. Flea bath them……
In your case flea bath them both… But once you dry them with towel… REPEAt! and then throw towel in plastic bag till washing. Do not let eggs spread! Dry them, an dlook to see any live or existing fleas. “If you see them… Bather one more time!”
Once you think you got them ALL. DO NOT LET THEM OUT OF THE BATHROOM!
SPRAY THE ENTIRE apatrement / Home wit hthe bug buster… Leave kitties in bathroom and you and the family go to the movies….
Spray the carpet BIG time… (you know how they live)/….
Rule = source base = infestation.
Ugh, the very thought of fleas makes me shudder.

When I had 2 cats and a dog, I put a couple drops of flea medication on the back of my dog’s neck, which was supposed to be made of all-natural stuff. I often wondered about that, because she would go running around my condo like speedy gonzales right after I put it on her. Anyway, I found it to work excellently. I didn’t even have to put any on the cats, or do any of that nasty fogging stuff. The vet said that a lot of his patients said the same thing, and he thought it was because the dogs would spread some of the medication around when rolling on the carpet or laying on the couch, etc.

That, I’m not sure about yet. I don’t have a car to drive him to the ferry, so I’ll have to arrange something else.
The only thing worse than a cat with fleas is a cat who has been sprayed by a skunk. Soak generously with tomato juice. Trying to get one into a tub is quite an experience. They let ya know some quick that it is not a very dignified experience.
