If you used to be able to visit here but now can’t without going to a new computer, its probably because your IP address is one of these:
38.98.120.78 195.175.37.6 200.65.127.163 62.150.130.26 148.233.159.58 200.88.223.99 80.227.0.156 87.118.106.104 72.36.199.114 195.226.230.58 62.150.40.142 62.150.35.230 210.106.57.252 67.168.215.167 207.172.154.65 218.39.54.239 203.144.160.249 60.217.227.140 82.114.68.194 212.150.97.114
Sucks to be you. Your IP spammed my blog and I don’t have time for that. If you wanna come back, you better be good at begging, except you, 38.x.x.x. You’re not ever allowed back, you bandwidth-sucking troll. Point your robots at yourself.
There.
Isn’t the ban plug-in great!?
I have these IPS blocked so far.

Hah! Your comment got moderated because of the number of links in it. As you can see, there are no hyperlinks to the sites, so I moderated it in for others to see.
I have not had any real luck with that plugin, perhaps because of the spoofed IP thing. I have IPs int he list that keep getting into the 1st poster moderation que. I am glad that its working for you, but I’m banning IPs as they get caught through the cPanel IP Deny manager. Ironically, posts about spam and spammers seem to be a honeypot for them, so they’re easy to find.
The reason that I’m not fooling with the plugin is because I don’t even want them to be allowed to use the bandwidth it takes to show the “You’re Banned” page. Because the method I’m using is a bit “hit or miss”, I’m not banning IP ranges, just individual IP’s, for now.
I can do this because I don’t get nearly the amount of SPAM that you do.
I don’t know whether your host is on Linux or Windows, but I have a script for Unix variants that queries SBL’s and all you have to do is add it to your wp-config file and bam… no more problems. I think I could convert it to Windows too. I have some code stored for that purpose, it would probably take an hour for me to find it though.
Good evening, Richard! (yes, Mac, its nearly midnight there). I am hosted on a Red Hat server. Mac is hosting his own on Windows XP.
If either of you are interested, I can either post both sets of code here, or email them to you guys, whatever you prefer.
On second thought, code usually gets munged in comments.
It needs to be wrapped by the code tag, which is not available in my comment form. That is one of the things that I am thinking about changing, if possible. It may require an overlay of sorts. Perhaps I’ll write a theme with that in mind.
Never mind on me sending that code. You’re better off with what you have. I did some tests and you wouldn’t like the results.
Those aren’t actually links. They are host names of the computer that is spamming. The host name is what I like about the plug-in because it prevents the user on that computer from spoofing their IP.
