My site doesn’t look the way I want it too. I know that some like it, but its mine and I don’t. I like some features and I am not against a 2 column design. But, its not quite what I want. Actually, its not at all what I want (although its okay to look at). bear with me as it changes. Let me know when you see something that you like.
I know what you mean about finding what you like for a theme.
The best thing to do is either design your own from the ground up or take bits and pieces from all the designs you like and mash them into something unique that hopefully you do like 100%.
Personally, I like your current fGreen theme but as you said, it’s your site. Rock on.
I see something I like. It’s the fGreen theme.
Didn’t you know that web design is supposed to please the audience, not the author?
probably you wanna try a web2.0 style liquid layout?
You’re getting the idea. I like fGreen, which is why its been in my theme diectory since Fredrick released it. And, yes, I want to use a liquid theme (that even works in IE! :O ). But, I also want to conceal rarely used features, like the archives list and category lists, probably with a shelf. I’m also partial to using the screen real estate for content, if possible, which is why I chose this theme for now, instead of something narrower, like the Sunflower theme. Its a nice theme, but not my style.
And, thanks for the input. I have downloaded a few others that I like and I’m going to
trashhack them into something more “me”, and I’d love any more response. I do listen - even to you, John.BTW, “I Love Colors” was in consideration for victimization (but its already looking good. LOL)
I have to admit something here since you’ve created this topic.
And Corey you’ll agree when I say, that a lot of the things you try here, I end up e-mailing you for the code or pluig in on something that I find atractive.
I especially like the comment drop down and the hovering quote thingy. I’ll be asking you for those in the future.
LOL
Oh, so now we know what goes on behind the scenes. I don’t know why, but that touched me as being very sweet.
OH GEEEEZ! There Skye goes getting all Brokeback Mountain on us!
It’s not like that. Corey and I like the boobies! We really, really do.
You should hear some of the conversations we would have about eyecandy. We’re perverts come to think of it
Is that supposed to put you in a more favorable light? Because if so, it isn’t.
Thumbs down
heh. Skye, if you’re looking at the theme that’s flying across your screen right now, then you caught me with a bit of live editing (I really should set up a test blog). I bet a refresh brought you back to this pretty green and mauve creation again.
Now there is a new page called “ARCHIVED ENTRIES” where I’ve implemented the “EXTENDED LIVE ARCHIVES” plugin to display archives and categories neatly on their own page. If you don’t have javascript enabled in your browser, 1)you’re paranoid and 2)you probably don’t like the way my site looks anyway, since I’ve been using it for a long time.
Whew, it’s back
I like the new archives page…great idea.
Great plugin- I want it too.
Why do you have all your archive posts set with comments off?
I was going to comment on the lazer pointer one, but can’t. I didn’t see it here before.
I’ve turned off comments for the last 10 posts, so that I don’t have to revisit the past, like with that ridiculous NuComm post. Its a plugin and I like it. I might increase the number of past posts you can comment on, but its just too much work sometimes.
