duma.jpgSo tonight, we’re going to watch Duma with the kids. I hope that this story will keep the kids entranced from beginning to end. This one is hot onto the rental shelves, so y’all should be able to get it now. I’ll let you know later what impressions we had of the movie.

Synopsis here.

Perhaps I’ll even include real world quotes from children and adults who have watched this movie. From looking at the trailer, we decided that this would likely be a great family watch.

So I’m back with the update

Caleb says that he wants to watch this movie every day. Abby had no comment because she is 4 (but she seemed to like it for the most part). Ange thought that it was a good family movie ad she even seemed to be entertained. I have to agree. This movie was the right choice for our family to watch and I’d recommend that anyone watch this movie. Its a touching story and the back of the DVD cover didn’t do it justice. I don’t know if I’d be watching it over and over, like my son claims to want to, but its worthy of a watch (worth the $4CDN I rented it for at the convenience store).

So, what I liked about this movie is its plausability. Its still a tad far fetched to think that a young boy can se out with his pet Cheetah and cross the desert in search of the Cheetah’s home, and subsequent reintegration into the wild. But, it could happen. Its nice to see a family movie that involves both humans and animals that doesn’t rely on tons of CGI and cartooning. Bravo.
