No, not mine. Ashley’s. This is the movie, Just my luck.
Manhattan socialite, Ashley is the luckiest person in New York. Untill, one night she goes to a masquerade ball and meets, Jake. Jake on the other hand has the worst luck. After kissing Jake, Ashley is horrified to find out that she and Jake swapped luck.
Ange and I watched it and we both enjoyed it. Let me say this up front. I’m a guy and I like guy movies. But, I don’t mind the odd chick flick as well. This would nearly qualify as one of those. Its almost a family movie, too, as its got lots of corniness, which seems to be the mainstay for the family market (tell that to the writers of Duma. LOL). This movie was no “gotta go and buy the first DVD I find” movie, but its also not so bad after all. I know that a few reviewers seemed to think that this movie was a bit lightweight, but what do you expect? Its a comedy and the premise is a tad o the ole magic, like Simply Irrisistible. Let it take you over and you won’t mind a bit. The good news is that, with the kind of fluffy humor, its not going to hurt your brain to watch it. That can be a good thing. Its Disneyesque. You can handle it.
I was gonna pass this movie until I read your movie review. Maybe I’ll rent it one day when I’m watching my 10 year old niece.
Glad to hear you willingly watch these kinds of movies. Most guys, if they watch them at all, seem to do so begrudgingly, and won’t let you forget it.
I actually am open to almost any format. I’m the same way with books. As long as the quality is at a certain level, I’ll indulge. But if its a stinker, I don’t want to be near the smell, so to speak. This one didn’t smell too bad. Wait for my review of “The Break Up”, which we watched as well (if I get to it – we watched it Saturday).
