Rolling Canada Flag

Its election day in Canada. If you’re eligible to vote, then get off yer butt and go do it! Polls open in 1/2 hour.

Remember that if you don’t vote, then you have no right to complain about who got elected and what they’re doing. If you vote and thw candidate/party that you support doesn’t get the majority, then you can say, “I didn’t vote for them!” when the government does something you don’t like!

    I voted. What’s your excuse?

Sorry old chap but I must parse this logic.

Only in the event that one vote actually did make a difference, would it be true that one would (obviously theoretically) lose their right to complain. An extension of this would be only those who actively campaign, stuff envelopes, and lobby etc have the right to get vociferous, when the universe doesn’t unfold as it should.

The old bromide about the intertwining about rights and responsibilities comes to mind. I have the right to go to the public library, but I don’t have a resposibility to go there.I have a resposibility to drive safely, but I don’t have the right to drive. I’ll close now before I am responsible for driving you right up the wall (grin).
