Everything that I borrowed, I still owe! I borrowed a lousy $800 and have been servicing these debts since. Every two weeks, the loan is due. The service charge on that little bit was $225. With that much out, I have had to roll the loans over every two weeks. Think about that.

What could you buy for $450/month? A really nice car? The payments on a new Washer, dryer, fridge, stove, big screen TV, and surround stereo?

Up until a couple years ago, I couldn’t get my credit card debt under control. It was like this 200 pound boulder that I had to carry around with me all the time. I finally did whatever I could to pay it down, especially once my car payment was done. It was such a relief to get it paid off, and keep it off. No more :(|)’s on my back. What a good feeling!
Thanks, Skye, for mentioning credit card debt. I have a good piece of advice for that, too. For those who are still struggling with your credit cards, the way out is easier than you think. Well, its never easy, but this is the best way. My dad’s been helping people do this for years.
Pay the most you can on the card with the highest interest. If you can’t make the minimum payment on the other cards, send what you can with a note explaining why you can’t pay in full (some have a check box on their envelopes to say you have correspondance). Communicate your willingness to pay them with a payment. They will accept it and carry on. If you pay down the highest interest cards first, then they won’t have a chance to grow fastest, which they would otherwise. If you can get along without some cards, pay them off and close your account. Don’t just cut the card. Close the account and request written confirmation that its been done.
Life will then be easier. #:-s
