I try to keep off the subject of work, but I have to express a bit of frustration on the new schedules coming out. Now, granted for some, this is going to be a great thing. Our client has either approved or assigned narrower hours for us. The new hours of operation will be 10am to 10pm, Monday to Friday. For those who had to work Saturdays before, this might be a good thing. But, for those who could barely justify not seeing their kids much with a 9am-5:30pm shift, that is now gone, unfortunately. Now, those of us who were lucky enough to score a morning shift will have to work later as well. I’m one of those people.
Some would say, “Suck it up, buttercup!” and they woul be justified. I’ve been lucky. I’ve not had to work a weekend for over a year, and my hours have been 9am-5:30pm. I won’t be sleeping in any later, though, because I still have to get the boy off to school (and my 12 year old brother in law comes down at 6:20am to catch the bus from our place). So, all this means is that I’ll be getting home later than before. Oh joy!
Well, we work with the tools we’re given, right? I’ll manage. There are others who have it worse off than I do, I guess.
The only reason you always had 9-5 shift is because the system that was designed to make it fair to everybody, so that everybody has a shot of a morning shift, was not working, and you lucked out all year. While others, ahemm *me*, never got that fair rotation for a year.
Suck it up, buttercup!
Do I hear a “sour grapes” story? I believe that I do! Well, you might have a better chance at the shift that you want soon.
This comment really doesn´t have much to do with the post, but I had no other way to contact you, Corey.
I am the author of the “Asus Motherboard Reworking Guide” and I would just like to give you the updated link to the page, so you can correct it on your page.
