So I was clearing out the dish rack and grabbed my 11″ french knife (sharp enough to shave with) and it slipped out of my hand. No biggie. Jump back, right? Not me! No, I have to snatch for it! Sure enough, this makes things worse! I actually ended up slamming the knife point down on the finger on my left hand! Yeah! The gash looked to be to the bone and about 2 cm long. Having worked around kitchens for years, I knew that this was definitely a stitcher. No questions at all. Down to the hospital I went and only 3-1/2 hours later, I got 2 stitches - which hurt like a bitch because the anesthetic used for local freezing doesn’t really work well on me (4 needles and now my finger is completely without feeling - woulda been good at the time, though!). Here’s the result:

Tsk, tsk, tsk. You totally ignored rule #1 when a knife is falling. Trying to catch it isn’t the one either. You of all people should’ve knowen that.
