I’ve been sampling some of the local microbrews. I must say that I am, so far, not impressed. Tonight’s round is Picaroons. I don’t get it. Seems like everyone who has tried it loves it. Tastes like the crap I used to home-brew with those dump-and-stir kits. I’ve tried the “Summer Ale” which is a wheat beer (tasted pretty bad, IMO), the “Irish Red” which is acclaimed (didn’t do it for me - tasted like a beer kit), and the “Best Bitter”, which is no great shakes. Perhaps this is the way beer should taste, but I don’t think so.
Sorry guys, you got me buzzed, but I’ve enjoyed the journey at less expense and better taste. Keep it up. Maybe you’ll make a beer I like. Maybe not.
Do you prefer the European/American style lagers, or the British bitters? I used to love going to the Leeds beer festival at Uni, wow what a err, well bit of a day (the rest is kinda blurry). Do you brew your own?
Well, well, well. Now we know what you’re doing on your suspension.

Just stay with the Keiths, Stay - with - the - Keiths! ** insert hipnotic chant here**.
Keiths is the only beeer.
Brewed in Nova Scitia, Canada, India Pale Ale. Good Ol’ Alexander uses only the finest ingeredients.
My favorite beer is the wet kind. When I can’t find that, I try the root kind.
But seriously, I do prefer a “hoppier” more bitter beer, but one with a lighter clean taste. A lot of the American beers are nice for a hot day (as long as I get the Canadian version with more alcohol
). I’m not a big fan of wheat beer, but either corn or rice-based malt is fine, as long as the alcohol content stays below 7%. After that, it takes on a “vinegary” taste that I’m not fond of.
No, I don’t make my own any more. I’ve been meaning to get back into it, but I want to do it from scratch, which requires a bit of purchasing/construction. Some day…
Just don’t try Pearl or Lone Star- wet or not, they’re both nasty!
Had Lone Star…once (to quote Johnny Dangerously)
