My son was watching Mythbusters on Discovery channel and they were showing the episode where they bust the myth about the trombonist and the firecracker during Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. That prompted me to pull out my old CD by Lorin Maazel Vienna Philharmonic. Its an oldie, but a goodie. So, we three (Caleb, Abby, and I – mom was taking a nap with earplugs) cranked the CD and blasted with 1812, Wellington’s Victory and Marche Slave. The kids loved it, especially when I mocked the trumpet and violin, while switching to “conductor mode”. A good time was had by all, and no crash test dummies were harmed!
I laugh when I read this. I imagined you doing this and wish there was a camera present.
You’re funny!
Whatever you imagine is probably the way it goes down. These times are some of the few times we “let loose” together in a good goofy way.
