Wow. Neato. I just saw an interesting article on the CBS news (which I don’t usually bother with – hey, I’m Canadian! I watch CTV) about a tire that takes no air, called the Tweel. It looks like a wagon wheel, but made of hard rubber. Looks pretty cool. No more flats!

Before I go any farther, I’ll apologize in advance for any typos or runtogetherwords, as Angela’s keyboard went kaput this morning and I gave her my new one, leaving myself the old one with the broken spacebar and sticky crap inside.

So, this morning’s frigid -25C went up to a balmy -16C today. What a relief! I thought it’d be cold. :-D Forecast says another cold night back down to -25C again. Brrrrr. The kids obviously didn’t go outside today. Too high a risk of frostbite. Not worth it.

So, Monday was my first day on the phones with our new client at work. I was so bloody nervous. I can’t believe how nerve-racking it was. I don’t think I was as nervous getting married!

-an aside about the last comment: I was, as any man, nervous on my wedding day. Many might think this an opportunity to comment negatively about “commitment” and other things. Well, if you do, and you don’t bash me too much, I might not delete your post ;-) ;-) But, be sure to click on a few ads efore you leave and make me rich!!!!! I think that anyone is nervous when they make such a large commitment as their soul and life to another. It can feel like a lot of pressure to be the perfect mate. Do we really know what that’s supposed to be? I think that if you end up your tour on this lump of dirt and made her/him happy 75% of the time, you’re WAY ahead of the rest of the world.

So my first call came in and I, of course, raised my hand for help almost immediately. The client is a major telco and our training involved, so far (yes, there’s another 5 weeks of training in a month or so…) covered anything from telephone service to internet. Its quite involved. Well, I forgot everything instantly in one big (as my friend John says) BRAINFART.I’m glad there’s so much support there, as it’d sure be a catastrophe if they weren’t. This is the most involvement that I’ve seen from any employer in my entire working life (that’d be since 1982, at the tender age of 12 when my allowance was too small for my purchasing needs). Although the work is really challenging, I feel good about the investment that my employer has in me. Needless to say, I got through the call and even went back for more, every day! Otherwise, this post would have different content ;-)

Now, its time to go pop some yummy CARRIAGE TRADE popcorn. That stuff is deeeeeeliiiicious! Orville now has to play second fiddle to this stuff. Its that good! Stike one up for the el-cheapo!

Baldy’s out.
